While Bombardier Transportation’s railway propulsion systems have been in use globally for more than a century, its latest MITRAC portfolio was redeveloped with the aim of helping railways to improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions.
Wabtec, announced it will supply Inner Mongolia North Hauler Joint Stock Co., Ltd. (NHL), a leading mining truck manufacturer in China, with 28 360-ton premium integrated electric drive systems, to support the company’s 360T mining truck contract with Yancoal in Australia. The systems will help Yancoal’s mining fleet achieve increased productivity and speed on grade performance and help reduce fuel costs and equipment wear.
The cable glands for demanding markets will also be available in the sizes M12, M16, M50 and M63 in the future. HUMMEL AG has thus responded to the great demand for these robust and equally slim cable glands.
Following the instructions of the Spanish Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, Talgo is collaborating with Renfe Operator to adapt high-speed trains that will be used, if necessary, to transport patients affected by the coronavirus between different autonomous communities within Spain.
Bombardier Transport, a world leader in the rail technology sector, has received a firm order for 19 Regio 2N, double deck vehicles (114 cars) from the French National Railway Company (SNCF) on behalf of the Region Auvergne-Rhône Alpes. This additional order amounts to 176 million euro ($193 million US), including price escalations based on best faith assessment of assumptions, and is part of the contract signed with SNCF in 2010 which provides for the manufacture of up to 860 trains for the French Regions.
30 March 2020 – Alstom has been awarded a contract to supply 30 Coradia Lint regional trains to Hessische Landesbahn (HLB). The contract is worth approximately worth €120 million. The trains, which contain 120 seats, are spacious and bright, equipped for disabled passengers and offer a unique travel experience thanks to their large windows. They will run on the Wetterau West-East subnetwork from 2022.
Coronavirus: rail freight services, unlike passenger rail services, have kept their operations going in full to ensure the vital supply of goods around the world. DB Cargo now says it is seeing increasing demand for rail freight transports.
