SNCF Chooses CAF for New Intercity Trains

SNCF has selected CAF as the preferred bidder for a contract for 28 intercity trains. This order is worth around 700 million euros (774 million USD). These medium and long-distance multiple units are to operate out of Paris – to Clermont-Ferrand and Toulouse. SNCF Mobilités announced its decision on 18 September. It will now present its decision to its Board of Directors on 24 October 2019.

More Green Energy for Deutsche Bahn

Deutsche Bahn (DB) have renewed their commitment to green energy across the network by signing a Power Purchase Agreement, with the Nordsee Ost wind farm, for the next five years. DB currently draws of 900 million kilowatt hours of green energy from innogy hydropower plants with the company’s annual requirement around ten terawatt hours, an equivalent to the energy consumption of a city the size of Hamburg.
