TX Logistik increases frequency on the Leipzig – Verona connection

TX Logistik AG is further expanding its intermodal connection between Leipzig and Verona. Starting on April 5, the rail logistics company, part of the Mercitalia Group (Gruppo FS Italiane), will in future operate eight instead of the previous six round trips per week between the two economic metropolises. The reason for the expansion is the current high market demand for rail transport capacity.

The starting point and destination in Leipzig is the DUSS terminal. In Italy, the Sommacampagna-Sona terminal, located slightly west of Verona, is served. On the route over the Brenner Pass, Hall in Tirol is also served regularly. The train makes a stopover there.
All services are provided by TX Logistik under its own control and include not only traction but also the marketing of the transport capacities.

A train can carry up to 34 loading units – including bulk and tank containers as well as swap bodies and semi-trailers. Goods of all kinds are transported on the route, including vehicle parts, recyclables, recycled and chemical products, and consumer goods.

Beyond the current expansion of the service, demand from TX customers for intermodal transport continues. Therefore, the train frequency between Leipzig and Verona will be increased further in the future.
