The order volume ofthe framework agreement amounts to172.6 million euros. In a first call-off, ATM has ordered30 vehicles.This is the first time Stadler delivers trams to Italy.

Following the confirmation of the validity of the contract award announced in July 2019,Stadler and Azienda Transporti Milanesi S.p.A.(ATM) have signed the framework agreement for the manufacture and delivery of up to 80 TRAMLINK trams. The framework agreement has a term of six years and an order volumeof 172.6 million euros. At the same time,ATM has made an initial orderof 30 vehicles.

The 80 bidirectional TRAMLINK trams will be used for both urban and interurban services. The aim is to gradually replace older rolling stockand to expand the transport offer. The excellent dynamics as well as high safety and comfort improve the travel experience for passengers.

The TRAMLINK consists of three duplex stainless steel carbodies, which are highly resistant to corrosion and reduce the weight while maintaining the strength of the structure. With a length of around 25 metres, the vehiclefit perfectly into the road traffic of the Lombardy capital. In addition, the three innovative bogies improve the smooth running of the trams in the very tight radius curves typical of Milan. This reduces the noise significantly, with the consequent benefits for passengers and local residents.

The low-floor and three doors on each side allow a fast flow of passengers, which is confirmed by studies conducted by the Politecnico di Milano. This is particularly beneficial topeople with reduced mobility who, thanks to the wide interior corridor, will be able to move along the tram without difficulty.

Particular attention is paid to the safety of passengers, drivers and pedestrians. The TRAMLINK is equipped with an anti-collision device that can intervene when it detects a potential collision situation with pedestrians, cars or other obstacles. Inside the vehicle, safety is guaranteed by cameras that eliminate blind spots. Additionally, the ergonomically designed driver’s cab also increases the driver’s visibility.

Íñigo Parra, CEO of Stadler Valencia, said: "We are very proud that a cosmopolitan city like Milan, strongly committed to green and sustainable mobility, has chosen our innovative tram.TheTRAMLINK incorporates Stadler's long-standing experience in passenger transport vehicles. I am convinced that our vehicles will successfully meet the challenges of Milan’s urban transport, including the Winter Olympics in 2026”.

ATM was founded in 1931 and isa company owned by the Municipality of Milan. It manages the public transport services (metro, tram, bus and trolleybus) in the Lombardy capital and in 95 surrounding municipalities, serving an area of over 2.5 million inhabitants. The Milan tram service currently has 20 urban lines serving a network of 180 kilometres.
