Alstom awarded £12 million overhaul contract for ScotRail trains

Alstom, global leader in smart and sustainable mobility, has been awarded a £12 million contract to carry out mileage-based modernisation on ScotRail’s Class 334 fleet of 40 trains that serve the Edinburgh to Glasgow line.

Czech Railway Administration will use digital maps from Ness built on Hexagon technology

Hexagon's Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial division announced Ness Czech, a leading Czech system integrator and supplier of IT solutions and part of Ness Digital Engineering group, will supply the Czech Railway Administration with the Digital Technical Railway Map (DTRM), a railway-specific geographic information system (GIS) that will provide the state organization access to information about its transport and technical infrastructure to better and more efficiently prepare investments and repair work.

FROM 2023 ONWARDS, RCG WILL TRANSPORT EVEN MORE WASTE BY RAIL

On 1 January 2023, the transport clause of the Waste Management Act (AWG) will come into force. It states that waste with a total weight of more than 10 tonnes that must be moved over a distance of 300 km or more must be transported by rail. ÖBB is investing €75 million in new rolling stock so that it will be able to handle the additional waste transports.
