Deutsche Bahn to Invest 12 Billion in New Trains by 2026

Deutsche Bahn says that the total investment it is making in new trains until 2026 is 12 billion euros. Of this, 8.5 billion will go towards long-distance vehicles and 2.7 billion to redesigning and acquiring vehicles for Germany’s big five S-Bahn networks. Lastly, DB Regio will spend around 1 billion euros on modernising its fleet with 350 new vehicles.

Alstom’s Citadis Dualis tram-trains begin commercial service on the Tram 4 extension between Clichy and Montfermeil

14 December 2019 – After entering commercial service in September 2019 on the Tram 4 line between Bondy and Aulnay-sous-Bois, Alstom's Citadis Dualis tram-trains are now starting service on the extension of the Tram 4 line between Livry-Gargan, Clichy-sous-Bois and Montfermeil.

100 Million KM Milestone for Alstom Avelia AGV Fleet

Since April 2012, when Alstom’s fleet of Avelia AGV very-high-speed-trains started operating in Italy, they have collectively travelled 100 million kilometres. The fleet has 25 trains, meaning that on average, each train has travelled 4 million kilometres.

Alstom Wins Marseille Metro Contract

Alstom is to carry out the renewal and automation of Marseille metro for the sum of 430 million euros financed by Métropole Aix-Marseille-Provence. As part of this contract, Alstom will develop, supply and install the operating system and equipment for the automatic operation of the network’s two lines. Alstom will also commission 38 new rubber-tyred metros (4 cars) and modernise all the audiovisual passenger information inside the stations. The new trains are scheduled to enter service in early 2024.

After acquiring SNIC in 2017, the RAIL INDUSTRIES group (Marolles-en-Brie) continues its development strategy in the railway signalling industry with the takeover of an IDEMIA branch of activities. Founded in September 2017 by two former investors, Vincent Menudier (21CP, Aquasourça) and Xavier Payet (21CP and Alpha PE), InnovaFonds, along with EMZ, will be investing in the RAIL INDUSTRIES group to achieve this second development operation.
