Innovating for rail: Knorr-Bremse is founding member of Europe’s Rail Joint Undertaking

A new organization is about to take over from Europe’s Shift2Rail research program – and Knorr-Bremse, global market leader for braking systems and other rail and commercial vehicle systems, is one of 25 founding members. The new Europe’s Rail Joint Undertaking (ERJU) initiative will form part of the EU’s Horizon Europe research program (2021–2027), acting as a cornerstone for the development of a series of digital and green solutions for the rail industry.

Moscow will open 10 stations of the world's longest circle metro line by the end of 2021

10 stations of the Big Circle Line (BCL) of the Moscow Metro will open by the end of the year. This new section will be the longest one put into operation at one time; its length is about 20 km. BCL will be the longest circle metro line in the world. Its length is 70 kilometers, which is 3.5 times longer the existing Line 5 (Circle Line) and a quarter longer than the Beijing loop line (Line 10) - so far the leader in length in the world.
