SYSTRA IS MODERNISING THE TELECOMMUNICATIONS OF A REGIONAL NETWORK IN BRAZIL
SYSTRA has been awarded a feasibility study to develop a plan to implement communication and information technologies for the system of the ‘Companhia Paulista de Trens Metropolitanos, a rapid transit and commuter rail company in São Paulo, Brazil.
SYSTRA’s teams from São Paulo (Systems) and Belo Horizonte (Consulting) will be working for CPTM alongside CelPlan, a Brazilian company based in the US, and the United States Trade and Development Agency (USTDA). The study is scheduled for completion by the end of June 2024.
SYSTRA’s work aims to clarify what can be done with CPTM’s current infrastructure, considering human resources, equipment, buildings, and services, as well as new investment and solutions.
More specifically, the feasibility study will:
- Assess CPTM’s current ICT resources for Wi-Fi systems, ticketing, passenger information, signalling, energy, SCADA*, data centre and the entire operation control centre (OCC).
- Identify similar solutions adopted around the world.
- Qualify requirements, recommended hierarchy and ICT organisational structure for the execution, operation and management of the project.
- Develop the impact assessment of the proposed solutions with environmental verification.
