SNCF AWARDS APPROVAL FOR PANDROL’S HFP 36V
Global rail infrastructure specialist Pandrol has announced that it has received approval from the French national railway company SNCF, on its High Flow Preheater 36V (HFP 36V).
The French railway company SNCF oversees the development of specific requirements and manufacturing standards for the European railway industry.
Pandrol’s HFP 36V product has now been approved by SNCF and is homologated for use on railway lines and infrastructure.
The HFP 36V, is a battery-operated automatic air-propane preheating system designed to replace every existing preheating equipment in aluminothermic welding. It comes as a compact and robust unit that can be handled by a single person.
Frédéric Delcroix, Pandrol’s Welding Technical Support Director, commented: “Pandrol’s High Flow Preheater’s is a major step to improve welding quality. The automation of the HFP 36V helps in reducing weld rejection rate and we expect a significant improvement of weld performance on the track in France. Welder’s feedback during trial has been very good and we are proud to receive recognition from SNCF for this system.”
