A new modified Ivolga 3.0 will be launched on the prospective Moscow Central Diameters

The train has been tested without passengers and has been improved since the last autumn. Now the certificate of compliance with the safety requirements for passenger transportation has been obtained and the Tver Carriage Works (part of the JSC Transmashholding) can produce trains of this model on a serial basis. Ivolga 3.0 will run on the MCD-3 and MCD-4.

A new modified Ivolga 3.0 will be launched on the prospective Moscow Central Diameters

Thanks to the state-of-the-art technologies used in the design of the electric train, a smooth running of the train, low noise level, fast acceleration and braking of the train are ensured. The modified Ivolga 3.0 model is a new step in the development of the Russian electric eponymous train platform.

The exterior appearance of the train model will remain the same, but inside the new trains will become even more convenient. The seats will get a new anatomical shape with support for the back and head, and there will be additional armrests between them. There will be more sockets for charging gadgets and chargers for electric scooters. Bicycles with wide rims can be transported in the bike racks.

All the convenient services of the previous Ivolga train are preserved: trains will have no vestibules and doors will remain as wide as before. There is enough space in the cabin to put a stroller and pass a person with disabilities - there are places for wheelchairs. In addition, there are also comfortable handrails, reclining seats (for standing up travel), as well as climate control systems with air disinfection.

At the beginning of January 2022, the Russian company Transmashholding received a tender launched by the Argentine Government for the production and supply of 70 Ivolga 3.0 electric trains. It is planned that they will run on the Retiro – Pilar line. Ordering the trains for the Moscow Central Diameters and the Moscow Central Transport Hub allowed Russian manufacturers to create a world-class electric train. Today its competitors are suburban and regional Mireo trains of German Siemens Mobility company and regional Stadler FLIRT trains of Swiss production.

The new train is made of Russian components. The first Ivolga 3.0 trains will be handed over to the Central Suburban Passenger Company this year.
