A NEW CONTRACT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE MARYLAND PURPLE LINE LIGHT RAIL IN THE UNITED STATES

The Purple Line is a new 16-mile double track light rail line with 21 stations that will extend from Bethesda in Montgomery County to New Carrollton in Prince George’s County, close to Washington D.C. The new line is estimated to take 17,000 cars off of the road daily, saving 1 million gallons of gas within 20 years.

The project awarded to the JV led by Delta is worth over $ 140 million. The work being performed on this project includes, among the others, the installation of both ballasted and slab track. Trackwork will start in late 2022 and will last for approximately 3 years.

Thanks to this agreement, the new contracts signed by Delta in the first months of the year cover around two years of equivalent production.
