On the same occasion, the operation control centre (OCC) located at Prayagraj was also inaugurated. This OCC will act as the command centre for the entire route length of the EDFC and is one of the largest structures of its type in the world.

On behalf of the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Ltd (DFCCIL*) SYSTRA’s teams in India worked on the design, project management and scheduling of the Bhaupur to Khurja section, as it was then known, a project for which we won an award in 2019.

"SYSTRA’s outstanding reputation in the rail project management consultancy (PMC) field in India is constantly being reinforced by our extensive involvement in the development of the country’s freight corridors. We are pleased to be making a major contribution to this highly strategic infrastructure initiative and I look forward to the successful continuation of our work for DFCCIL.”

EDFC: BOOSTING ECONOMIC GROWTH
A part of India’s Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) programme, the EDFC is creating opportunities for a range of industries in various regions such as mango farmers in Malihabad, marble traders in Rajasthan, car manufacturers in Faridabad, leather traders from Kanpur and Agra as well as a range of other industries.

The New Bhaupur to New Khurja section will open new opportunities especially for local industries such as aluminium, glassware, and pottery products. Consumers, industry, farmers, traders and all other stakeholders are thus set to benefit from the freight corridor.
